Responsibility : • Develop 2D and 3D plastic injection mould designs using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, or similar. • Create detailed drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical documentation. • Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost, and ease of maintenance. • Work with product engineers to understand component requirements and material behaviour. • Coordinate with tool room, CNC programmers, and production teams for feasibility checks. • Participate in design reviews and make modifications based on feedback. • Perform tolerance analysis, stress analysis, and mould flow simulations when required. • Ensure all designs meet dimensional accuracy, durability, and performance criteria. • Recommend design enhancements to improve cycle time, reduce cost, and extend mould life. • Stay updated on new mould materials, coatings, and manufacturing technologies. • Vendor Coordination & Project Management. Qualification & Skills • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Tool Engineering, Industrial Design, or CIPET. • 2–5 years (Junior) or 5–10 years (Senior) experience in plastic injection mould/tool/die design. • Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, UG/NX). • Knowledge of mould flow analysis software (e.g., Moldflow, Moldex3D) is a plus. • Thinwall and IML packaging moulds knowledge is a plus. • Strong understanding of plastic injection moulding processes. • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines • Reduction of rework or design-related production issues.
