Role Summary

The SAP MDG Lead will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and governance of master data across SAP systems. This role ensures high-quality, consistent, and reliable data aligned with business and regulatory requirements. The MDG Lead will play a pivotal role in defining data standards, establishing governance processes, and driving SAP MDG best practices across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the SAP MDG strategy, implementation, and operational governance.Define and enforce master data policies, standards, and procedures across domains (Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance, etc.).Manage data governance frameworks and drive data quality initiatives within SAP MDG.Collaborate with business units to define master data requirements and ownership models.Configure and maintain SAP MDG components and data models.Oversee the integration of SAP MDG with other SAP and non-SAP systems.Monitor and manage workflows, validations, and approvals in the MDG system.Train data stewards, users, and stakeholders on MDG usage and best practices.Support audits and compliance initiatives by ensuring regulatory alignment (e.g., SOX, GDPR).Continuously improve master data processes and tools based on business needs.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.12+ years of experience in SAP with 5+ years in SAP MDG implementation and support.In-depth understanding of SAP ECC/S4HANA and MDG architecture, data domains, and data models.Strong experience with data quality, data lifecycle, validation rules, and approval workflows.Hands-on configuration experience with SAP MDG (Data Models, UI Modeling, BRF+, DRF, and NWBC/Fiori).Solid understanding of master data integration across business processes and modules (MM, SD, FI, etc.).Experience with SAP Information Steward, Data Services, or other data governance tools is a plus.
