Job Overview:

The Sanitation Manager will be responsible for maintaining overall hygiene, cleanliness, and sanitation across the factory premises in accordance with FSMS and HACCP standards. The role involves managing sanitation staff, ensuring regular cleaning of all production and storage areas, maintaining proper records, and creating a hygienic and contamination-free environment suitable for food manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor the Sanitation and Hygiene Program in compliance with FSMS and HACCP norms.
  • Supervise and get work done from sanitation staff, ensuring each assigned area is cleaned properly and timely.
  • Maintain and manage a team of sanitation workers—assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure discipline.
  • Conduct daily sanitation inspections for production, packing, and storage areas, including equipment, drains, and walls.
  • Maintain daily cleaning records, checklists, and chemical usage logs.
  • Verify and document pre-operation sanitation checks before production begins each day.
  • Ensure proper and safe use of detergents, sanitizers, and disinfectants.
  • Maintain and execute the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) for deep cleaning activities.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Assurance department for hygiene verification, swab testing, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal in compliance with food safety and environmental standards.
  • Report and resolve any sanitation-related non-conformities or contamination risks.
  • Conduct training and awareness sessions for sanitation and production staff on hygiene practices and personal cleanliness.
  • Support internal and external FSMS / HACCP / FSSAI audits with relevant records and evidence of compliance.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in factory hygiene standards through supervision, reporting, and coordination with management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology / Microbiology / Environmental Science / Industrial Hygiene.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in sanitation or hygiene management in a food manufacturing or processing unit.
  • Practical understanding of FSMS, HACCP, GMP, and GHP systems.
  • Proven experience in managing and motivating worker teams effectively.

Skills Required:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of cleaning procedures, tools, and chemicals.
  • High attention to detail with accurate record-keeping.
  • Awareness of food contamination risks and hygiene control methods.
  • Effective communication and coordination with QA and production teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant factory environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
