Position Overview
Solutions Architect
This is a hands-on design role requiring deep expertise in both enterprise EAM systems and Salesforce architecture, with the ability to bridge industrial asset management requirements with platform capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design (60%)
- Design comprehensive Entity-Relationship (ER) models for Work Management, Asset Management, PM Scheduling, and Inventory/Logistics modules
- Create Salesforce data architecture that supports 100k+ assets while respecting governor limits and achieving <500ms search latency
- Define integration architecture for ERP, IoT telemetry (Maximo Monitor equivalent), and ITSM systems using REST/SOAP APIs
- Architect hybrid solutions combining standard Salesforce objects, AssetOptics native features, and custom extensions
- Design for 99.95% uptime SLA with 200+ concurrent users across web and mobile interfaces
- Define managed package strategy to avoid counting against customer org limits
Comparative Analysis & Requirements (25%)
- Conduct feature-by-feature comparison of IBM Maximo (Manage, Monitor, Health, Predict) vs AssetOptics
- Translate Maximo concepts (Asset Templates, PM Group Schedules, Job Plans, Flow Control) into Salesforce-native equivalents
- Evaluate and document "hybrid extensions" required for non-native features (Asset Versioning, Campaign Work Orders, Hierarchical PM Suppression)
- Define technical feasibility and architectural trade-offs for all 42 MVP use cases
- Validate Salesforce object model against performance benchmarks and scalability requirements
Deliverables & Documentation (15%)
- Produce detailed ER diagrams, process flows, and integration specifications
- Create UI/UX wireframes and screen mockups for 25+ interfaces (Week 3 deadline: all 42 use case mockups)
- Document architectural decisions, assumptions, constraints, and open issues
- Deliver OpenAPI/Swagger specifications for mandatory integrations
- Create traceability matrix linking requirements to use cases to design elements
- Present at weekly stakeholder validation workshops and 3 formal checkpoint reviews
Required Qualifications
Essential Experience
- 8+ years in enterprise software architecture, with at least 3 years in
Salesforce architecture
(Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Platform) - 5+ years hands-on experience with
Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)
systems - IBM Maximo experience highly preferred
- Proven track record designing Salesforce solutions managing 50k+ records with complex relationships
- Deep understanding of Salesforce data model, governor limits, platform events, and integration patterns
- Experience with
AssetOptics or similar Salesforce-native field service/asset management solutions
(strong plus) - Track record delivering technical blueprints for greenfield enterprise applications in regulated industries
Technical Skills
- Expert-level Salesforce platform knowledge: data modeling, security model, automation (Flows, Apex triggers), Lightning Web Components
- Strong SQL/SOQL skills and experience with data migration/ETL tools
- Proficiency in API design (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and integration middleware
- Understanding of IoT telemetry ingestion, time-series data handling, and predictive maintenance workflows
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and parallel design-development workflows
- Familiarity with requirements management and diagramming tools (Lucidchart, Miro, Enterprise Architect, Figma)
Domain Knowledge
- Deep understanding of EAM processes: work order lifecycle, preventive maintenance scheduling, asset hierarchies, spare parts management
- Knowledge of telecommunications network operations or facilities management (preferred)
- Understanding of mobile field service operations and graphical dispatch/scheduling
- Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM service request management
Soft Skills
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders
- Strong facilitation skills for requirements workshops and design review sessions
- Ability to work under tight deadlines (Week 3 checkpoint: 42 mockups delivered)
- Comfortable with ambiguity in a greenfield design environment
Desirable Qualifications
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect
- IBM Maximo Certified System Administrator or Implementation Specialist
- Experience with Salesforce ISV/managed package development
- Knowledge of other EAM platforms (SAP PM, Oracle EAM, Infor EAM)
- Background in telecommunications, utilities, or industrial manufacturing asset management
- Experience with computer vision (Maximo Visual Inspection) or ML-based predictive maintenance
