Sales Manager Government Sector (Key Account Manager)

Role Overview:

Sales Manager cum Key Account Manager

The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, managing key government accounts, handling tender / RFP processes, building strong relationships with clients, and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships and solution selling.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the

    Government, PSU, and Smart City sectors

    .
  • Map upcoming tenders, empanelments, and projects in e-Governance, Urban Development, and allied sectors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and forecast accurately.

2. Key Account Management

  • Serve as the single point of contact for strategic government clients and departments.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and procurement officials.
  • Ensure client satisfaction, timely communication, and post-project relationship management.
  • Drive repeat business and renewal of AMCs / support contracts.

3. Tendering, Proposals & Coordination

  • Coordinate end-to-end tender and bid management: identifying tenders, preparing proposals, coordinating with technical/pre-sales teams, and ensuring timely submission.
  • Liaise with technical, finance, and legal teams to prepare competitive proposals and compliance documentation.
  • Represent the company during pre-bid meetings, technical presentations, and client interactions.

4. Market & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with Government officials, system integrators, and partner organizations.
  • Stay updated on government IT policies, procurement procedures, GeM processes, and digital initiatives.
  • Represent VMax at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences.

5. Reporting & Performance

  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly sales and pipeline reports to management.
  • Track performance metrics and provide strategic inputs for business expansion.

Education

Graduate in Engineering / Computer Science / IT / Electronics or equivalent. MBA in Marketing / Business Development preferred.

Experience

IT sales / e-Governance / Government business development

Domain Expertise

Government / PSU / e-Governance / Smart City

Skills Required

Travel

Willingness to travel within Telangana and across India for client meetings and government interactions.
