Job Description

A Business Development Executive is responsible for generating new business, growing key accounts, and driving revenue through consultative selling of technology and IT service offerings. The role focuses on lead generation, client relationship management, and collaborating with delivery and technical teams to convert opportunities into long-term engagements.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities in target industries and geographies through market research, outbound outreach, networking, and partnerships.
  • Generate and manage a strong sales pipeline via cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, events, and referrals, ensuring regular follow-ups and timely closure.
  • Understand client business challenges, gather requirements, and work with pre-sales/technical teams to propose suitable IT services and solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver customized presentations, proposals, and commercial offers; lead negotiations on scope, commercials, and terms to close deals.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring high client satisfaction and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing to run campaigns, events, and digital initiatives that support lead generation and brand positioning in the IT services space.
  • Track sales activities, maintain accurate records in CRM, and share regular forecasts, reports, and insights on market trends and competition.

Desired profile / qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business, Marketing, IT, or related field); MBA in Marketing/IT/Systems is an added advantage.
  • 2–6 years of experience in business development / IT sales / inside sales for IT services, software development, or technology consulting.
  • Strong understanding of IT services (e.g., application development, support, cloud, digital, staffing/outsourcing) and ability to translate them into business value for clients.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to interact with CXOs and senior stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets, with strong ownership, persistence, and a result-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office; comfort with using LinkedIn and other digital channels for prospecting and networking.
