Sales Advisor

Role & responsibilities

1. Customer Engagement & Sales

• Greet and assist customers with product selection based on their project requirements.
  
• Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate building material products (cement, steel, tiles, plumbing, electrical, hardware, etc.).
  
• Provide accurate product information such as specifications, pricing, and availability.
  
• Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales.
  
• Prepare and follow up on quotations, orders, and invoices.
  

2. Product Knowledge

• Maintain detailed knowledge of building material products, their features, applications, and brands.
  
• Stay updated on new products, market trends, and competitor offerings.
  
• Guide customers on material usage, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  

3. Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relations with contractors, builders, architects, and walk-in customers.
  
• Follow up with existing clients for repeat business and referrals.
  
• Handle customer queries, concerns, or complaints professionally.
  

4. Store Operations / Field Activities

• Ensure proper display and arrangement of building material products.
  
• Take part in inventory checks, stock management, and coordination with the warehouse team.
  
• Visit client sites when required to understand requirements and provide product guidance.
  

5. Reporting & Compliance

• Maintain daily sales reports, customer databases, and follow-up trackers.
  
• Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets.
  
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.
  

Qualifications & Skills:

Education

• Graduate preferred (Any discipline).
  
• Diploma in Civil/Construction field is a plus.
  

Experience

• 15 years of experience in sales, preferably in building materials, hardware, or construction products.
  

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Technical understanding of building materials.
  
• Negotiation and persuasion skills.
  
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Billing systems).
  
• Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
