Job Summary

Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all

  statutory safety regulations

  , industry standards, and organizational policies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor

  Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

  procedures.
• Maintain documentation related to safety audits, training, and inspections.

Risk Management

• Conduct regular

  risk assessments

  , safety audits, and hazard identification across departments.
• Recommend corrective actions and follow up to ensure issues are resolved.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports.

Safety Training & Awareness

• Conduct

  safety training sessions

  , mock drills, fire drills, first-aid training, and emergency response exercises.
• Create awareness among employees on safety protocols, PPE usage, and safe work practices.

Facility & Fire Safety

• Monitor and maintain

  fire safety systems

  , including extinguishers, alarms, hydrants, and emergency exits.
• Coordinate with engineering teams for preventive maintenance of safety equipment.
• Oversee safe usage of chemicals, machinery, electrical systems, and hazardous materials.

Operational Safety (Factory, Hospitality & Hospital)

• Enforce safety procedures in

  factory and industrial areas

  , including machine safety, PPE checks, and equipment handling.
• Ensure compliance with

  hospitality safety standards

  in hotels and resortsswimming pools, kitchens, guest areas, housekeeping operations, etc.
• Monitor

  hospital and healthcare safety protocols

  , including biomedical waste handling, infection control, and emergency preparedness.

Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise with external agencies (fire department, pollution control board, safety auditors, etc.).
• Prepare regular MIS reports for management review.
• Support emergency response teams during critical situations.

Requirements

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or related field.

• 5–10 years of experience

  as a Safety Officer in

  factory, hotel, resort, hospital, or hospitality sectors

  .
• Certification in

  NEBOSH / IOSH / Safety Diploma

  preferred.
• Strong understanding of

  HSE laws, factory rules, fire safety norms, and risk assessment procedures

  .
• Good communication and training skills.
• Ability to manage safety for diverse work environments.
• Attention to detail, disciplined, and proactive in identifying hazards.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and handle emergency situations.
