Safety Officer

Role & responsibilities

• Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to statutory safety regulations, company policies, and safety requirements across all construction operations
• Site Inspection & Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of construction areas, tools, and equipment to identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly
• Risk Assessment: Facilitate hazard identification and risk assessments for various construction activities, ensuring adequate control measures are in place
• Training & Awareness: Organize and conduct safety induction programs, toolbox talks, and refresher training sessions to strengthen workforce awareness and safety behaviour
• Incident Management: Lead accident and near-miss investigations, document findings, and recommend preventive and corrective measures to avoid recurrence
• Safety Reporting & Documentation: Maintain statutory safety records, inspection reports, and incident logs; prepare periodic reports for management review and audits
• Coordination & Implementation: Liaise with project management, contractors, and site teams to ensure safe work practices are integrated into all site activities and align with project schedules contractors, and site teams to ensure safe work practices are integrated into all site activities and align with project schedules

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a recognized safety qualification (e.g., Industrial Safety Diploma, or equivalent).
• 4 to 8 years of experience, preferably in industrial, warehouse, or PEB construction environments.
• In-depth knowledge of applicable safety regulations and best practices (Factories Act, BOCW, etc.).
• Strong skills in inspection, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
• Ability to promote and sustain a proactive safety culture at the site
