Job Summary:

The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant workplace in accordance with food safety, occupational health, and environmental standards. The role involves implementing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with statutory and food-grade safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures within the food processing area.

Conduct regular inspections and audits of plant areas to ensure compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000, and local statutory requirements.

Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and take corrective actions promptly.

Ensure compliance with PPE usage, hygiene, and housekeeping standards in food-grade zones.

s Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training programs for employees and contractors.

Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement preventive measures.

Maintain all safety documentation, including permits, reports, checklists, and training records.

Support implementation of behavior-based safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Coordinate emergency preparedness, including fire drills and evacuation plans.

Liaise with regulatory bodies, third-party auditors, and internal departments to ensure compliance.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of food industry safety standards (GMP, HACCP, ISO 45001).

Good understanding of risk assessment, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.

Excellent communication and training skills.

Proficient in MS Office and safety reporting tools.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

NEBOSH / IOSH / Diploma in Industrial Safety.

Exposure to food-grade plant operations (dairy, beverages, edible oil, snacks, etc.).

Working knowledge of local labour and safety regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.62 - ₹48,613.50 per month
