Job Description

Job Title : RPG Developer The RPG Developer will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of RPG (Report Program Generator) and DB2-based applications on the IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform. This role requires working closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize solutions that support business requirements. Required Qualifications 2 - 10 years of experience in RPG programming (RPG IV, RPGLE, Free-format RPG). Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Strong hands-on experience with DB2/400 and SQL for iSeries. Solid experience in application development and maintenance on IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform. Proficient in RPG/400, RPGLE, and Free-format RPG programming. Strong knowledge of DB2 for i, SQL, and database design. Experience in CL (Control Language) programming. Familiarity with IBM iSeries system administration and performance optimization. Experience with API and web service integration on IBM i is a plus. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain applications using RPG (RPGLE, RPG/400, Free-format RPG) on IBM i (AS/400) platform. Design and develop database solutions using DB2 for iSeries, including writing efficient SQL queries and embedded SQL. Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines. Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing RPG and DB2 applications. Troubleshoot issues, debug programs, and fix bugs. Participate in system testing, QA, and debugging efforts. Design, develop, and maintain DB2 databases including tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures. Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, processes, and databases. Ensure detailed and accurate documentation for any code changes or system upgrades. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong time-management and organizational skills. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
