Job Description

Role & responsibilities To deliver Rotating Equipment assurance in compliance with Regulatory, Company and International Codes & Standards for Oil & Gas facilities through O & M services , through carrying out Plant Modifications & Asset Integrity related work of existing O & M assets and through the delivery of Brownfield Projects (including preparing design deliverables, review / approval of the same done by engineering contractors) Preferred candidate profile The individual is dutybound to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practices are adhered to at all times whilst adopting exemplary safe behaviors per Company HSSE policies. Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance in support of the Head of Engineering Assurance’ accountabilities Provide discipline design advice / input into the Operations & Maintenance of contracted assets Provide Engineering Design input including preparation/ review/ approval of design and vendor deliverables for Plant modifications to existing O & M assets and for Brownfield Projects Monitor the Operating Envelope on a continuous basis so that the relevant equipment / systems perform within the Design Envelope & in accordance with associated SCE performance standards. Serve as the Barrier Owner with accountability for related SCE elements in the Operational Performance Standard / Safety Case Provide discipline input into Operations Risk Assessment and other risk workshops as per Company standards, following up on engineering-related actions relating to risk response action plans Provide discipline input into the ‘ Management of Change ’ Review of concession requests relating to discipline and SCE elements. As the Barrier Owner with accountability for related SCE elements, deliver ‘ Verification’ through A udits including by a third party for corresponding SCE elements. Assist with the development of standard operating procedures and standard maintenance procedures Provide discipline expertise advice / technical support to the asset operations teams Support Operations in the development of the Operations Assurance Plan that describes the operational activities, assurance requirements and deliverables, including plans necessary for ‘ready for handover’ and commissioning of newly contracted assets. Undertake a review of previous lessons learned, consider and incorporate appropriate learnings. Participate in HAZID and HAZOP and other HSSE- related reviews. Participate in Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis Undertake Asset Base support & Offshore Travel as per assigned Rota to meet the above job requirements and upon any requests from operations. Prepare a requirement of discipline design deliverables and provide input into scopes of work where such work is to be executed through an Engineering Consultancy organization for plant modifications / brownfield projects. Ensure that codes, standards and functional specifications for relevant equipment and systems are suitable for their corresponding applications. Provide technical support for Monitoring, Inspection and Repair of associated equipment Monitor progress of the development of design deliverables and propose corrective actions in the event of potential schedule overruns. Prepare technical and progress reports to support flow of key information to management to assist in decision making. Participate in the procurement process (e.g. ITT requisition packages) through the evaluation of technical submissions including technical pre-qualification of vendors. Provide Input to Bid for new projects / operating assets The job holder will be required to attend stipulated training courses pertaining to travelling and working offshore and pass their examinations to allow the necessary offshore visits to the operating facilities/platforms Degree qualified in Mechanical engineering discipline. Proficient in the application of functional assurance processes with the ability to analyze problems, assess risk exposure and develop solutions. Interpersonal Skills Proactive and able to work independently, applying a structured and systematic approach Creative, ability to propose practical & pragmatic solutions Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to work in a multidisciplinary / multinational environment Team player Knowledge Good knowledge of international Codes and Standards used in the design of Rotating Equipment Experience with Large Turbo Machinery such as GE’s LM2500, Large Screw and Centrifugal compressors is desirable Proficient in the use/interpretation /application of Condition Monitoring Systems Good Knowledge of Dry Gas Seal systems and their applications Good knowledge of Diesel engine driven Machinery / Generators Good awareness of best practices across the industry Reasonable Knowledge of ‘Driver’ / Driven Equipment related Electrical systems Good understanding of how various engineering disciplines interact Other Must be fluent in English (oral and written) Excellent presentation skills, with ability to adapt style and content of presentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
