Job Description

Role & responsibilities: A retail cashier's main responsibilities involve managing transactions, handling payments, providing customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area . Transaction Processing: Scanning items and ensuring accurate pricing. Collecting payments in various forms (cash, credit/debit cards). Issuing receipts, refunds, or exchanges. Redeeming coupons or gift cards. Handling cash and making change. Balancing the cash drawer at the end of each shift. Customer Service: Greeting customers and providing a positive shopping experience. Answering customer questions and providing information about products or store policies. Assisting customers with locating items or resolving minor issues. Bagging purchases. Handling returns and exchanges. Store Operations: Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. Cross-selling or upselling products. Adhering to store policies and procedures. Assisting with other tasks as needed, such as restocking or cleaning.
