Researcher

The Core is looking for a sharp, market-savvy Senior Researcher & Content Strategist to power its chart-topping daily business news podcast. This person will work closely with the hosts every day to produce intelligent, timely and engaging content that cuts through the noise.

You will drive research, craft narrative-ready insights, shape episode direction, and collaborate on naming/segment ideas — ensuring every episode is smart, structured, and distinctive.

What You’ll Do

Daily Research & Analysis

 • Track markets, economy, business developments, corporate trends, earnings, policies, and global news.

 • Go beyond headlines to produce mid-depth analyses and contextual insights.

 • Monitor ongoing stories, market movements, sector trends, and breaking news.

Content & Creative Collaboration

 • Work with hosts and editorial leadership to ideate episode angles, segment names, and special projects.

 • Collaborate on story framing, narrative structure, transitions, and pacing.

 • Ensure all content is aligned with The Core’s editorial tone — sharp, clear, insightful.

Multi-Format Writing

 • Prepare talking points, structured episode prep notes, and quick-turn analysis summaries.

 • Draft short newsletters/briefs based on the day’s research.

 • Create concise, high-precision writeups for hosts before each recording.

Host Collaboration

 • Work closely with hosts daily, prep them before each episode, and sit in on recordings when needed.

 • Provide last-minute updates as news breaks.

Editorial Discipline

 • Fact-check stories, validate claims, verify numbers and ensure accuracy.

 • Maintain a system to track recurring themes, guest insights, data sources.

What We’re Looking For:

 • 4–7+ years of experience in journalism, research, business/market analysis, consulting, or editorial roles.

 • Strong grasp of markets, macro, business strategy, companies, sectors, and economic stories.

 • Ability to simplify complex information quickly and creatively.

 • Exceptional written communication; crisp, structured thinking.

 • Comfortable working in a fast-paced daily content cycle.

 • Curiosity, creativity and a strong editorial instinct.

Nice-to-Have:

 • Podcast or newsroom experience.

 • Ability to propose creative segment ideas or special series concepts.

 • Experience working with high-paced founders, executives, or content teams.
