Research Analyst - Valuations

As a member of the Private Equity Valuations Team of a US-based Alternative Asset Manager, your role involves validating the valuations of private investments, reviewing and documenting valuation models at the asset level, drafting investment memos, and providing valuable insights. Your key responsibilities include: - Reviewing the inputs included in the valuation matrix-based valuation models and materials - Validating valuation methodology and models used for model calibration and methodology review - Reviewing the valuation of assets held by the funds at each NAV frequency - Reviewing significant changes in valuation marks/other valuation KPIs through simple, detailed, and scoring sample testing for public and liquid assets - Reviewing and documenting the valuation models at the asset level - Supporting the onshore team with the monthly and quarterly valuation review process - Preparing and validating monthly and quarterly NAV review, including NAV snapshot, waterfall analysis, and performing reasonability checks on CAS - Verifying fair value vs. accounting, analytically reviewing assets, liabilities, interest, and expenses before/after NAV release, and resolving discrepancies or inconsistencies discovered during the review - Performing analysis to incorporate all relevant information into the valuation review process - Collaborating closely with the onshore team to provide accurate and timely reporting on Valuation activities performed Qualifications required for this role include: - Masters degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field - 1-6 years of experience in valuations - Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation analysis, and data analysis - Demonstrated expertise in financial statement analysis and interpreting complex financial data - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail - Preferably holding a CFA designation or actively pursuing the CFA program - Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Bloomberg, and other relevant financial analysis tools - Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex financial information effectively - Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment No additional details of the company were mentioned in the job description.,
