Regulatory and Approvals Manager - Solar EPC Projects

Role & responsibilities

Required Skills and Background:

• State-Specific Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all state-specific regulations for solar power plant

installation, including state policies, renewable energy standards, and local permits.

Understand the nuances of the states regulatory framework and ensure projects

meet all requirements.

• Distribution Line Route Survey Coordination:

Work with state DISCOM (Distribution Company) officials to coordinate the

distribution line route survey, securing necessary approvals and ensuring compliance

with state-specific regulations for power distribution.

• CEIG Approval Management:

Oversee the process of obtaining CEIG (Chief Electrical Inspector General) approval

for solar power projects, ensuring adherence to technical, safety, and regulatory

standards specific to the state.

• Meter Sealing Approvals:

Manage the process of obtaining meter sealing approvals from state authorities to

ensure project compliance with local electricity regulations.

• Regulatory Updates & Monitoring:

Stay up to date with changes in state-level regulations, renewable energy policies,

and industry trends that may impact solar power projects. Proactively monitor and

implement any changes in the regulatory environment to ensure compliance and

minimize delays.

• Liaison with State Authorities:

Develop and maintain relationships with senior officials from state regulatory bodies,

DISCOMs, and government agencies. Regularly meet with officials to address issues,

resolve regulatory challenges, and ensure the timely approval of projects.

• Negotiation & Conflict Resolution:

Use excellent negotiation skills to secure the best possible terms for regulatory

approvals. Manage and resolve conflicts or roadblocks in the approval process,

ensuring project timelines are maintained.

• Documentation & Compliance Reporting:

Prepare and submit the necessary regulatory documentation, permits, and reports in

line with state-specific requirements. Ensure that all paperwork is submitted on time

to prevent delays in the project.
