Job Description

Role Overview We are seeking a senior-level sales leader with a deep-rooted background in the courier and logistics industry, particularly with a strong network and operational knowledge in South India. This role is pivotal for GMS as we aim to build a full-scale sales force from scratch. The candidate must come with either: 1. A proven clientele and the ability to bring business from day one, or 2. A strong track record of leading and building sales teams in the industry. This position is designed for someone who can lead by example, directly contribute to the sales pipeline, and also recruit, develop, and manage a team of high-performing Sales Executives. Key Responsibilities · Build and execute a strategic plan for business growth in Karnataka and other southern regions · Personally bring in high-value clients and contribute to key revenue pipelines · Identify, recruit, and onboard experienced Sales Executives (preferably from the same industry) · Guide and mentor the sales team, track performance metrics, and drive results · Develop standard operating procedures for the new sales structure at GMS · Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to align sales and service delivery · Create and manage sales forecasts and submit reports to the Executive Director · Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies Must-Have Requirements · Minimum 8–10 years of experience in logistics/courier sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity · Strong South India market knowledge and network (especially in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh) · Existing network of clients or access to decision-makers in relevant sectors · Proven capability to hire, lead, and train sales teams · Excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial skills · Strategic thinking and execution ability Preferred Background · Candidates from VRL, DTDC, Delhivery, Blue Dart, or similar courier/logistics players · Those with experience in expanding regional B2B business in express logistics · Ability to bring 2–3 Sales Executives as part of their core team (optional but highly valued) Salary We are open to offering a starting CTC of ₹1 lakh/month and above for the right candidate. Compensation is flexible and negotiable, depending on the candidate’s track record, business potential, and team-building ability.
