Job Overview:

Regional Business Head for Housing Loans in Microfinance

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning:

    Develop and implement regional business plans and sales strategies to achieve targets for housing loan disbursement and revenue growth.
  • Team Management & Leadership:

    Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of area/branch managers and field officers, fostering a culture of performance and compliance.
  • Business Development & Sourcing:

    Oversee customer acquisition strategies, including building strong relationships with local stakeholders like real estate agents and builders, and developing robust sourcing channels (direct and indirect).
  • Portfolio Quality & Risk Management:

    Monitor the loan portfolio performance, track and control delinquency rates (PAR/NPA), manage collections, and ensure the underwriting process adheres to established risk policies.
  • Operations & Compliance:

    Ensure all regional operations, including loan processing, documentation, and disbursement, comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., RBI/NBFC guidelines).
  • Market Analysis:

    Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and product acceptability in new areas to identify opportunities for expansion and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Financial Management:

    Manage the regional budget, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare and present regular reports on regional performance, financials, and forecasts.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Education:

    A Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required, with an MBA or postgraduate qualification often preferred.
  • Experience:

    Typically requires a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the mortgage, home loan, or housing finance sector, with a proven track record in sales leadership and regional management.
  • Leadership:

    Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Industry Knowledge:

    Deep understanding of affordable home loan products, microfinance principles, market dynamics, and the regulatory environment.
  • Analytical Skills:

    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess market conditions, financial data, and manage risk.
