Reference Data Business Analyst

As a Data Analyst in the Securities Master Central (SMC) team, your role will involve: - Conducting data analysis for complex systems and front to back flows - Reverse engineering functional specifications from data - Collaborating closely with End Users/Clients to understand Business Process/Industry Standards/Regulatory Mandate requirements - Working closely with IT and Operations partners - Engaging with external data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC, Markit) and standards organizations - Independently executing projects - Conducting Systems Integrated Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) - Creating Function Specification Documents (FSD), System Requirement Specification (SRS), and test plans Qualifications required for this role include: - 4 to 9 years of working experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst - Strong background in financial reference data and capital markets asset classes (e.g., fixed income, equities, derivatives) - Proficiency in SQL for data querying, analysis, and troubleshooting - Strong data analysis and mapping skills - Knowledge of MS Excel and Visio - College degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience - Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy - Experience/understanding of business process reengineering and business modeling concepts, systems development lifecycle - Strong analytical and writing skills for functional and technical specifications - Good communication skills with assertiveness - Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure - Experience with SDLC methodologies like Waterfall, Agile (JIRA, etc.) - Comprehensive knowledge of the Testing Lifecycle with SIT, UAT, and Production Preferred Skills: - Experience working with major vendor data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC) - Experience collaborating with IT Project managers and development teams - Experience with vendor product implementation Please note that the job is in the Business Analysis / Client Services job family within the Technology segment and is a full-time position.,
