What makes the role meaty?

• Perform Reconciliations

  : Compare and match financial records from different systems, such as bank statements, general ledgers, and sub-ledgers.

• Identify & Investigate Discrepancies

  : Pinpoint differences or "breaks" between financial data sources and conduct thorough investigations to find the root cause of these discrepancies.

• Resolve Issues

  : Take appropriate action to resolve discrepancies, which may involve manual adjustments, journal entries, or coordinating with other departments.

• Report Generation

  : Prepare and submit regular reports summarizing reconciliation activities, highlighting trends, and providing insights to management.

• Process Improvement

  : Develop and implement strategies to streamline reconciliation processes, improve accuracy, and reduce cycle times.

• Collaboration

  : Work closely with various departments (e.g., finance, operations) and external parties (e.g., banks) to gather information and ensure smooth reconciliation.

• Compliance

  : Ensure all reconciliation activities adhere to internal controls, company policies, and relevant external regulations.

We hope that you have..

• Education

  : A Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required.

• Experience

  : Previous experience in a reconciliation-focused role, often with a minimum of 5+ yrs of experience

• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

  : The ability to analyze complex data, identify discrepancies, and devise solutions is crucial.

• Attention to Detail

  : Meticulous attention to detail is essential for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

• Communication Skills

  : Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Software Proficiency

  : Familiarity with relevant accounting software, reconciliation tools, and other financial technologies is a must.
