About the Role

We are looking for Aerospace Engineering Interns to join our R&D team, focusing on the design and development of Fixed-Wing VTOL UAVs. This role offers hands-on exposure to UAV aerodynamics, propulsion integration, and control systems, contributing directly to the development of next generation drones.

Interns will work closely with the engineering team on conceptual design, CAD modeling, CFD simulations, fabrication, and flight testing of UAV prototypes. This is a high-impact role that bridges theory with real-world UAV applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the conceptual and detailed design of a fixed-wing VTOL UAV.
• Develop and refine CAD models (airframe, fuselage, propulsion mounts, control surfaces).
• Conduct aerodynamic analysis (CFD) for lift, drag, and stability optimization.
• Support propulsion system integration (multirotor lift motors + fixed-wing propulsion).
• Perform weight estimation, center of gravity, and stability assessments.
• Collaborate with avionics/electronics team for flight controller & sensor integration.
• Contribute to prototype fabrication, assembly, and flight testing.
• Prepare design reports, simulation data, and project documentation.

Required Skills

• Strong fundamentals in aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and propulsion.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (Fusion 360, CATIA, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of CFD / FEA tools (ANSYS, XFLR5, OpenFOAM, etc.).
• Familiarity with UAVs or RC aircraft (design, assembly, or flying).
• Problem-solving ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Prior experience with VTOL aircraft design (academic/personal projects).
• Knowledge of flight controllers (Pixhawk, PX4, ArduPilot).
• Understanding of propulsion selection, battery sizing & power systems.
• Exposure to 3D printing, composites, or lightweight structures.
• Programming experience (MATLAB, Python, or C++) for simulation/controls.

• Students, freshers, or early-career professionals in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Available for immediate joining and committed to the internship duration.
