R&D Chemist

Job Description

A Production Chemist in a cosmetics manufacturing company oversees the formulation, production, and quality control of skin and hair care products. The R&D Chemist is responsible for developing, formulating, and improving chemical products and processes. This role involves conducting experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product innovation, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. The R&D Chemist plays a critical role in turning scientific research into practical applications and market-ready solutions. Key Responsibilities: Manufacturing Process: Supervise production of creams, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, serums, etc. Monitor mixing, emulsification, homogenization, and packaging. Scale up formulations from R&D to full-scale production. Quality Control & Compliance: Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure product stability. Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, and FDA regulations . Troubleshoot formulation or production issues. Specifications require: Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or Chemical Engineering . Experience: 2–5 years in cosmetics/personal care manufacturing . Knowledge of cosmetic formulations & raw materials . Experience in manufacturing equipment & troubleshooting . Understanding of GMP, ISO, and regulatory compliance . Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Work Environment: Factory setting with lab and production interactions.
