Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team in the steel and tube industry. The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment used in the production of steel and tube products. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, precision tools, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment.Key Responsibilities:Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install mechanical components, machinery, and equipment used in the steel and tube manufacturing process.Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to ensure accurate assembly and installation of machinery.Maintenance and Repairs: Perform regular maintenance on machinery, ensuring optimal operation of equipment such as tube-forming machines, and other mechanical systems.Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring timely repairs to minimize downtime.Replace worn-out or damaged parts, such as bearings, gears, and seals.Conduct preventive maintenance checks to ensure machinery functions smoothly and avoid unexpected breakdowns.Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults in production equipment, machinery, and systems.Qualifications and Skills: ITI - FITTER or EquivalentExperience: Previous experience working as a mechanical fitter in an industrial setting, preferably in the steel, tube, or manufacturing industry.Experience with heavy machinery, precision equipment, and steel production equipment.Technical Skills: Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating machinery.
