Job Description

Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)

Roles & Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with
AERB
and statutory radiation safety norms
Act as the designated
AERB-approved Radiation Safety Officer
Monitor radiation exposure of staff and maintain TLD/dosimetry records
Supervise safe operation of diagnostic equipment (X-Ray, CT, C-Arm, Fluoroscopy, Mammography as applicable)
Ensure proper shielding, radiation warning signage, and controlled area demarcation
Coordinate AERB licensing, renewals, audits, and inspections
Maintain radiation safety documentation, QA records, and compliance reports
Conduct radiation safety training and awareness programs
Investigate radiation incidents and implement corrective actions

Eligibility Criteria

Degree/Diploma in
Radiological Physics
or equivalent
AERB-approved RSO certification (Level I / II as applicable)
Experience in hospital radiology / diagnostic imaging preferred
