The artist will be responsible for accurately recreating the motion of live-action cameras and objects in 3D, as well as building precise rotomation rigs to match the movements of characters, props, and creatures. This work forms the foundation for CG integration, ensuring seamless alignment of visual effects with the live-action footage. Key Responsibilities Track and solve camera movement, lens distortion, and object motion to match live-action plates. Create clean, precise camera tracks, object tracks, and body tracks for use by other departments (Animation, FX, Lighting, etc.). Build accurate rotomation rigs of characters, vehicles, or props that replicate on-set motion and performance. Deliver geometry and animation caches that align perfectly with the plate. Work closely with Layout, Animation, and Compositing teams to ensure seamless integration. Maintain consistency and quality across shots, adhering to production deadlines. Troubleshoot and refine tracking/rotomation to address feedback and technical challenges. Requirements 1–6 years of experience as a Matchmove or Rotomation Artist in a VFX production environment (freshers with strong skills can also apply). Proficiency in industry-standard software such as 3DEqualizer, Maya, PFTrack, Boujou, or Nuke . Strong understanding of camera lenses, perspective, and on-set data (survey, LIDAR, lens grids). Solid knowledge of anatomy, motion, and mechanics for accurate rotomation. Good eye for detail, spatial awareness, and problem-solving. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
