Quality Engineer

Department: Quality Location:  Mahape Experience: min 2– Years (Fabrication / Metal Industry preferred) Qualification: Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering Role Summary As a Quality Engineer at Crish Metal Work Pvt. Ltd., the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the consistent quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance of metal fabricated components. The role plays a key part in preventing defects, reducing process variation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across production and inspection processes. Key Responsibilities Incoming Material Inspection: Inspect raw materials (sheets, plates, pipes, angles, etc.) for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and specification compliance using precision measuring tools. In-process & Final Inspection: Perform stage-wise and final inspection of fabricated components including welding, cutting, bending, and assembly accuracy per drawings and customer standards. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain inspection reports, rejection logs, calibration records, and prepare final QC documents required for dispatch and customer approval. Customer & Internal Audits: Coordinate customer audits, third-party inspections, and support ISO 9001:2015 audits. Implement corrective actions for non-conformities. Root Cause Analysis & CAPA: Identify recurring issues, conduct RCA using 5-Why, Fishbone, etc., and drive Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) implementation. Welding & Fabrication Quality Checks: Inspect weld joints visually and dimensionally, monitor welding process compliance (WPS/PQR), and evaluate weld quality using standard acceptance criteria. Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA): Evaluate supplier performance, ensure material quality, provide feedback, and participate in supplier audits. Lean & Kaizen Initiatives: Contribute to 5S, Kaizen, and waste reduction projects to enhance quality and productivity. Tools & Software Skills Measuring Instruments: Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Welding Gauge, Surface Plate AutoCAD drawing reading and interpretation MS Excel & Word – Quality documentation & reporting Basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015 quality system Knowledge of RCA, CAPA, 5S & Lean Manufacturing methods Key Competencies Strong attention to detail and precision Good technical understanding of fabrication processes Problem-solving and analytical approach Effective communication and coordination skills Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Employment Type Full-Time
