ROLE: We are looking for an experienced, detailed-oriented and proactive Quality Control and Production Assistant to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the top standards in quality of Oceanus’ fashion and assisting in all phases of production process, providing top level Quality Control for our premium swimwear brand. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The role requires oversight of several factories, requiring extensive travel around Mumbai. You will be required to conduct thorough inspections of products to ensure they meet our quality standards. We will require top level attention to detail and support for the factories assuring product’s quality is tested, inspected and certified to Oceanus standards. You will assist in the production process, including assessment of fabrics and manufacturing. There will be requirement to maintain accurate records of quality control checks and examination of progress of the garment through the production process. We will need you to communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow. You will participate in our continuous improvement initiatives to achieve world class product quality and production efficience. You will decide if the product meets our comprehensive quality requirements specified by the brand and external Regulatory Organisations. We are looking for a proactive, collaborative and well organised person with ability to identify quality issues at source and take corrective measures with responsibility to deliver top quality finished product to our Wholesale and DTC customers. You will be required to follow a number of tests, typically at specified stages in the quality manufacturing process. We are looking for experience in inspecting fabric as well as finished products. The key objective is to prevent reoccurrence of product failure. We will provide structure and train on analysis of issues, failure patterns and how to spot issues with production process. Oceanus is focused on optimising production costs, achieving efficiency and zero-waste policy in optimising our supply chain. Role Scope: Inspection & Testing: Regular checks and tests identify defects before products reach customers. Setting Benchmarks: Defining clear quality standards for our factories and using them as a reference for performance across our supply chain Continuous Monitoring: Ongoing measurement and analysis to catch deviations early and take corrective action to prevent re-occurrence of issues Tracking inspections, documenting and aiming to enhance accuracy and efficiency in QC processes. Documentation: Maintaining detailed records for traceability and accountability. QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience in quality control and/or production assistance, preferably in premium fashion industry. Strong attention to detail and ability to spot defects and inconsistencies Strong Time management skills Ability to collaborate but also take initiative and work independently when away from the team.
