Job Description

1. Inward Quality Control (QC): Inspect and evaluate raw materials, components, and products received from vendors to ensure they meet company specifications and quality standards. Conduct thorough testing and analysis of incoming materials to identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from quality requirements. Document findings from inward quality inspections and coordinate with the procurement team to resolve any quality issues with suppliers. Maintain a record of inspection results and report any non-conformance to management for corrective actions. 2. Quality Alerts and Communication: Issue quality alerts when defects or quality issues are identified during the inspection process. Ensure that quality alerts are communicated promptly to the relevant teams, including production, procurement, and vendors. Follow up on the implementation of corrective measures resulting from quality alerts and ensure timely resolution of identified issues. Maintain a log of quality alerts to track recurring issues and their resolution status. 3. Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA): Implement corrective actions for any identified non-conformance or quality issues, ensuring that root causes are effectively addressed. Develop and monitor preventive actions to avoid the recurrence of similar issues, ensuring long-term improvements in the quality system. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate the causes of quality defects and implement solutions that align with company goals. Document all corrective and preventive actions taken and evaluate their effectiveness over time. 4. In-Process Quality Control (IP QC): Monitor and control quality throughout the production process by performing regular inspections at various stages of manufacturing. Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with established quality standards, and identify any deviations or potential issues early in the production cycle. Work closely with the production team to maintain consistent product quality and resolve any quality-related issues that arise during manufacturing. Conduct testing and verification of products on the production line, ensuring they meet all design specifications. 5. Manufacturing Line Quality Control (QC): Oversee the quality control activities on the manufacturing line, ensuring that production outputs meet both internal and external quality standards. Conduct visual inspections, functional tests, and other quality assurance activities during production to prevent defects from reaching the final stages. Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance product quality and reduce defects in the manufacturing process. Train production staff on quality control practices and ensure adherence to quality standards on the manufacturing line. 6. Outward Quality Control (QC): Conduct final inspections on finished products before they are dispatched to customers or the next stage of the supply chain. Ensure that all outgoing products meet the required quality specifications, including dimensions, functionality, and packaging. Perform random sampling or full inspections of products in compliance with the company’s quality standards. Document and report any defects or issues identified during outward quality inspections and work with relevant teams to address them before dispatch. 7. Vendor Management and Certification: Ensure that all vendors and suppliers are certified and meet the quality standards required by the company. Regularly review vendor performance based on quality metrics, and conduct audits to assess their compliance with contractual and quality requirements. Work with the procurement team to assess potential new suppliers, ensuring that they meet the company's quality criteria before being approved. Maintain vendor certification records and ensure that any issues related to vendor quality are addressed in a timely manner. 8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all quality control activities, including inspection results, quality alerts, corrective and preventive actions, and vendor performance. Prepare and present regular quality control reports to management, providing insights into product quality, issues, and actions taken. Ensure proper documentation of non-conformance reports (NCRs), inspection reports, and CAPA records for audits and internal reviews. 9. Continuous Improvement and Quality Enhancement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality management system. Suggest and implement strategies for improving product quality, reducing waste, and optimizing production efficiency. Monitor quality performance trends and propose initiatives for improving processes based on data-driven insights. 10. Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for production and quality control teams on quality standards, procedures, and best practices. Ensure that all personnel involved in quality control are well-versed in quality processes, tools, and techniques to maintain high-quality outputs. Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, standards, and best practices in quality control to continuously improve processes. Train employees on the product and manufacturing process as needed. 11. Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure that all quality control activities are in compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Regularly review and stay updated on regulatory changes that may impact product quality or quality control processes. Assist in audits (both internal and external) related to quality control, ensuring that the company’s practices align with regulatory requirements. 12. Ad-Hoc Responsibilities: Provide support on quality-related projects or assignments as needed, including product development, process optimization, or new vendor evaluations. Address any immediate quality control concerns or issues raised by production, customers, or vendors. Take on additional quality control responsibilities assigned by senior management to support the company’s objectives. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Control, Engineering, or related field. Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance in manufacturing, preferably in a water purification or similar industry. Strong knowledge of quality control processes, methodologies, and tools. Proficient in using quality control software and ERP systems. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
