Job Summary

QA SDET Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Automation Framework Development

• Design, develop, and maintain

  scalable, reusable, and modular automation frameworks

  using

  Java

  and

  Selenium WebDriver

  .
• Implement Page Object Model (POM), Data-Driven, Keyword-Driven, Hybrid, or BDD frameworks (Cucumber/TestNG/JUnit).
• Create utilities, custom libraries, and automation components to improve framework efficiency.

Test Automation Execution

• Automate functional, regression, smoke, and sanity test suites.
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI).
• Ensure automated tests run reliably in different environments and browsers.

Quality Assurance & Test Design

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to design comprehensive test cases and automation scripts.
• Identify gaps, edge cases, and potential product risks early in the development lifecycle.
• Ensure complete test coverage with traceability back to requirements.

Defect Tracking & Reporting

• Log, prioritize, and track defects using Jira or similar tools.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to drive fast issue resolution.
• Provide meaningful, data-driven QA metrics and automation execution reports.

Performance & Integration Testing (Good to Have)

• Basic exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience automating API tests using RestAssured/Postman/Newman.

Agile Collaboration

• Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to QA strategy, release planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Technical Skills

Programming

• Strong expertise in

  Java (8+)

• Solid understanding of OOP concepts, collections, exception handling, multithreading (good to have).

UI Test Automation

• Strong hands-on experience with

  Selenium WebDriver

  , Selenium Grid, and browser automation.
• Experience in cross-browser and parallel test execution.

Test Frameworks

• TestNG / JUnit
• BDD tools such as Cucumber (optional but preferred)
• Maven/Gradle build tools

CI/CD & DevOps

• Experience integrating automation with

  Jenkins

  , GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Git version control expertise.

API Automation (Preferred)

• Familiarity with

  RestAssured

  , Postman, or SOAP UI.

Concepts

• Strong experience in Automation strategies, SDLC & STLC, Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of testing types: functional, regression, smoke, UAT, API, compatibility.
