LIVIO Building System is looking for an QA/QC Engineer Job Description (JD) for a QA/QC Engineer specifically tailored for Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) and Hot-Rolled Steel (HRS) products in the construction industry: *Job Title* QA/QC Engineer CFS & HRS Products *Job Summary* The QA/QC Engineer ensures the highest quality standards for Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) and Hot-Rolled Steel (HRS) products in compliance with industry regulations, customer specifications, and internal quality management systems. The role involves overseeing production processes, conducting inspections, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and performance. *Key Responsibilities* *1. Quality Assurance* 1. Develop and implement Quality Assurance (QA) systems, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality plans for CFS & HRS manufacturing. 2. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential quality issues and recommend preventive actions. 3. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (e.g., ASTM, AISI, ISO), and customer specifications. *2.Quality Control* 1. Perform regular inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards. 2. Conduct dimensional, mechanical, and coating tests (e.g., tensile strength, hardness, corrosion resistance) on CFS & HRS sections. 3. Oversee the calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment. 4. Investigate product defects or quality complaints, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. *3. Documentation and Reporting* 1. Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions. 2. Prepare monthly quality reports, including KPIs such as defect rates, rejection rates, and quality improvements. 3. Support the preparation of quality-related documentation for audits and certifications. *4. Process Optimization* 1. Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes for improved quality and efficiency. 2. Recommend improvements in material selection, process parameters, or design to reduce defects and waste. *5. Training and Support* 1. Train production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and the importance of quality control. 2. Act as a key liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams on quality-related matters. *Qualifications and Skills* *Education and Experience* 1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Metallurgical Engineering, or related fields. 2. 3–5 years of experience in QA/QC roles, preferably in the steel manufacturing or construction industry. *Technical Skills* 1. Strong understanding of steel properties, manufacturing processes (roll forming, hot rolling), and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001). 2. Proficient in QA/QC tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). 3. Hands-on experience with inspection tools like micrometers, calipers, spectrometers, and hardness testers. *Soft Skills* 1. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 2. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 3. Effective communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and customers. *Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)* 1. Reduction in defect rates and rework percentages. 2. Number of quality improvements or process optimizations implemented. 3. Compliance rate with standards and customer specifications. 4.
