QA Engineer (Manual Testing)
to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of testing methodologies, and proven experience in ensuring high-quality software delivery within fast-paced product or enterprise environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including developers, product managers, and business stakeholders—to validate functionality, enhance product reliability, and uphold our commitment to excellence.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual test cases, test scenarios, and test plans based on functional and technical requirements.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, usability, and exploratory testing to ensure complete test coverage and product stability.
- Collaborate with development and product teams during requirement analysis to identify potential gaps, usability issues, and areas requiring clarification.
- Conduct rigorous manual testing across web, mobile, and API workflows (as applicable), ensuring all features meet expected outcomes.
- Identify, document, and track defects using standard bug-tracking tools, ensuring clear, reproducible, and well-structured defect reports.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, review meetings, and retrospectives as part of an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Work alongside automation engineers to support test coverage planning, share insights, and help prioritize automation candidates.
- Continuously evaluate testing processes and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and overall product quality.
- Validate fixes and patches, perform impact analysis before releases, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) cycles.
- Ensure adherence to QA best practices, standards, and documentation guidelines across all testing activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-9 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing within product-based, SaaS, or enterprise applications.
- Strong expertise in writing detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test plans based on business requirements and functional specifications.
- Proficiency in conducting various testing types: functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, compatibility, and acceptance testing.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with popular bug-tracking and project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla, or similar.
- Good exposure to API testing concepts using tools like Postman (basic validation, request/response analysis).
- Ability to analyze logs, perform root-cause assessments, and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate issues, risks, and test results.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a mindset focused on quality and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing complex, user-facing applications involving multiple integrations or workflows.
- Familiarity with SQL for validating data flows and backend validation.
- Exposure to automation tools or frameworks is a plus, though not mandatory.
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is an added advantage
