About the Role

Python Storage Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain

  Python-based automation scripts

  for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Test and validate storage components such as:

• SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel

• Object storage (S3-compatible systems)

• File systems (NFS, SMB/CIFS)

• RAID, disk arrays, SSD/HDD media

• Work with storage products such as

  NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, Hitachi, Ceph, GlusterFS

  , etc.
• Design and execute

  test plans, test cases, and test strategies

  for storage features.
• Perform

  API testing

  (REST/gRPC) for storage management interfaces.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with developers on issue resolution.
• Implement CI/CD-based test automation using tools like:
• Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, Azure DevOps
• Work with virtualization and cloud platforms (preferred):
• VMware ESXi, KVM, Hyper-V
• AWS S3/EBS, Azure Blob, GCP Cloud Storage
• Ensure high code quality through

  code reviews

• Contribute to test framework architecture improvements and scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong Python programming

  skills (OOP, modules, frameworks).
• Hands-on experience with

  automation frameworks

  such as:
• PyTest, Robot Framework, unittest
• Solid knowledge of

  storage protocols

  :
• Block: iSCSI, Fibre Channel
• File: NFS, SMB
• Object: S3 API
• Experience working with

  storage arrays and solutions

• Good understanding of:
• File systems, RAID concepts, snapshots, replication, deduplication, compression.
• Experience in

  Linux environments

• Knowledge of

• Experience with databases (MySQL/Postgres) for test data handling (optional).
• Familiarity with

• Experience working with large-scale distributed storage systems.

  Kubernetes

• Ceph, MinIO, Portworx, OpenEBS.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
