Position: Manager - Purchase (Electronics Manufacturing)

The Manager Purchase will lead end-to-end procurement operations for electronics manufacturing, ensuring on-time material availability, supplier performance, cost optimization, and alignment with production needs. The role requires strong expertise in P2P processes, MRP planning, EMS supply chains, global sourcing, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End P2P (Procure-to-Pay) Operations
- Manage the complete P2P lifecycle: requisitioning, PO creation, vendor negotiations, order management, GRN, invoice validation, and payments.
- Ensure process compliance, accuracy, and cycle-time optimization.
- Collaborate with finance, planning, and production for smooth transactional flow.
MRP & Material Planning
- Interpret and execute MRP signals to ensure timely procurement of all materials.
- Respond effectively to MRP exceptionsPush, Pull, Cancel—ensuring minimal disruptions.
- Monitor inventory health and optimize safety stock & lead times.
Clear to Build (CTB) Assessment
- Conduct regular CTB reviews to support production schedules.
- Identify shortages, align with planning and production, and drive timely resolution.
- Ensure availability of materials to meet build schedules and customer commitments.
EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) Procurement Expertise
- Handle procurement for high-mix, low-volume and high-volume manufacturing models.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, NPI, and manufacturing for sourcing alignment.
- Understand PCBA, SMT, box build, and overall EMS supply chain dynamics.
Supplier & Global Sourcing Management
- Develop and manage a global supplier base across key commodity areas.
- Drive supplier performance in cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Execute supplier evaluations, audits, and long-term agreements.
- Explore cost-reduction opportunities through alternative sourcing, VA/VE, and negotiations.
Risk Mitigation & Continuity Planning
- Identify potential supply chain risks (capacity, geopolitical, quality, financial).
- Implement proactive risk-mitigation strategies—supplier diversification, inventory buffers, contracts, etc.
- Ensure business continuity with contingency supply plans.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to achieve departmental goals.
- Foster collaboration with production, engineering, planning, quality, finance, and customer teams.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Customer-Facing Responsibilities
- Engage with customers on demand alignment, schedule commitments, and material status updates.
- Support escalations, lead times discussions, and collaborative planning initiatives.
