Job Description

Job Summary The Head of Purchase is responsible for leading and managing the procurement function for a fabrication company, ensuring cost-effective purchasing of materials, equipment, and services. The role requires a strategic approach to vendor management, inventory control, and supply chain optimization while ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities Procurement & Vendor Management Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials (sheet metals, SS tubes & Pipes, etc.), Mechanical spares, machinery, and electrical components. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with reliable suppliers and vendors to ensure cost savings and quality compliance. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure best pricing, quality, and delivery timelines. Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply chain issues promptly. Inventory & Cost Control Ensure optimal inventory levels to support production while minimizing costs and wastage. Track market trends, material price fluctuations, and implement cost-saving measures. Work closely with finance to manage budgets, cost forecasts, and purchasing reports. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure all procurement activities align with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies. Conduct regular supplier audits to maintain quality and compliance with ISO or other relevant standards. Work closely with the production and quality teams to ensure material specifications meet project requirements. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination Oversee the supply chain process, including logistics, transportation, and warehouse management. Optimize procurement and delivery schedules to ensure uninterrupted production. Implement and maintain ERP systems for efficient tracking and reporting of purchases.
