J ob Title-Pump House Operator We are looking for an experienced Pump House Operator to manage and monitor pumping systems that supply water and other fluids essential for steel plant operations. The candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of pump houses and related utility systems. Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain centrifugal and submersible pumps, motors, and valves. Monitor water levels, flow rates, and pressure gauges; adjust as required to maintain optimum performance. Conduct routine checks of equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of pumps and piping systems. Maintain logbooks, operational data, and equipment history records. Coordinate with maintenance and electrical teams for repairs and major maintenance. Report abnormal conditions, leaks, or system malfunctions to the supervisor. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Handle emergency shutdowns and restarts as per guidelines. Support water treatment processes if integrated with the pumping station. Requirements: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or relevant trade. Minimum 2 years experience in pump operations in a steel plant. Sound knowledge of pump systems, valves, and basic mechanical maintenance. Ability to work in shifts and under pressure. Basic understanding of safety standards in heavy industry.
