As a Software Development Engineer at Proxim, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Development, testing, and optimization of initialization routines for CPU - Development of tests to validate complex system behavior in a controlled environment - Debugging, root-cause analysis, and fixing of issues in complex multi-processor systems - Determining and maintaining the most optimal configuration of various control/configuration registers for various HW components in the system with a focus on MIPS/ARM CPUs - Performance analysis of various use-cases in a complex multi-core system - Porting various system software stacks/Drivers on different platforms to ensure correct functioning with CPU and associated IPs - Developing prototype software for HW-SW architecture enhancements as proof of concept - Proficiency in C and MIPS/ARM assembly code - Basic knowledge of cross-platform toolchains and running bare metal programs on target platforms - Basic understanding of CPU architecture including MIPS and PowerPC, typical boot sequence, memory organization, barriers, MMU - Exposure to development and enhancement of bootloaders like U-Boot, Redboot, etc. - Exposure to compile, run, and tweak Linux kernel for MIPS/ARM platforms - Awareness of Linux kernel and device driver programming - Exposure to debugging issues in multi-processor software especially related to concurrency and incorrect synchronization Your qualifications should include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or related field - 3-5 years of experience in software development - Strong knowledge of C and MIPS/ARM assembly code - Familiarity with CPU architecture, memory organization, and Linux kernel programming - Experience with debugging multi-processor software Proxim is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
