Job Title: Property Legal Officer Real Estate Location: Karnataka Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Property Legal Officer to manage legal disputes related to land and property and ensure all land-related documents comply with Karnataka laws. The role involves handling litigation, title verification, and legal due diligence to safeguard the companys or clients’ interests. --- Key Responsibilities: 1. Land & Property Documentation: Verify land titles, sale deeds, encumbrance certificates, and RTC (Record of Rights, Tenancy, and Crops). Draft and review property agreements, MoUs, lease deeds, and sale deeds. Ensure compliance with Karnataka Land Reforms Act and other local property laws. 2. Legal Due Diligence & Compliance: Conduct legal due diligence for property acquisitions, joint ventures, and lease agreements. Liaise with revenue and municipal authorities for property approvals. Handle land conversion matters (agriculture to non-agriculture) as per Karnataka regulations. 3. Handling Legal Disputes & Litigation: Represent the company in property-related disputes, civil suits, and land acquisition matters. Work with external legal counsels and advocates on pending court cases. File and defend cases related to property ownership, encroachments, and tenancy. 4. Coordination with Authorities: Interact with sub-registrars, revenue officers, and local authorities for property matters. Ensure legal compliance with RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority) Karnataka. 5. Risk Assessment & Advisory: Identify potential legal risks in land deals and provide mitigation strategies. Advise management on land-related disputes, tenant laws, and contract breaches. --- Key Requirements: Education: LLB or LLM with specialization in Property Law / Land Laws. Experience: 3+ years in real estate legal advisory, litigation, or compliance (preferably in Karnataka). Skills Required: Strong knowledge of Karnataka Land Revenue Act, RERA Karnataka, and property registration laws. Experience in title verification, land disputes, and property documentation. Ability to handle court cases and legal proceedings efficiently. Proficiency in Kannada and English (reading and drafting legal documents). Strong negotiation and analytical skills. --- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with a real estate firm, legal consultancy, or corporate legal team handling land matters.
