Proofreader & Quality Control Specialist

As a meticulous Proofreader & Quality Control Specialist, your role will involve performing detailed quality checks on various publications to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and consistency before they are printed. You will work on materials such as books, magazines, newspapers, websites, and specialized academic or business reports, making sure they are error-free and align with the quality standards set by the company. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct detailed quality checks on publications to verify text accuracy, including spelling, style, page numbers, headings, captions, photos, and illustrations. - Identify necessary changes using recognized symbols to ensure error-free final output. - Scrutinize every element to confirm correctness and consistency in spelling, style, and other aspects. - Verify correct captioning of photos and illustrations and ensure accuracy and coherence of related text. - Maintain high levels of concentration for extended periods to identify and correct errors. - Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure a smooth proofreading and quality control process. - Work with IT and specialized software for marking changes on screen. - Demonstrate a keen interest in the publishing industry and stay updated on the latest trends and developments. Qualifications & Experience: - Advantageous to have experience in proofreading, quality control, or related fields. - Background in the publishing industry or related sectors will be viewed favorably.
