Job Description

1. To assess the need for Assistive Technology in the general population with functional impairments. 2. To measure the gaps in the use of Assistive Technology. 3. To assess user satisfaction with Assistive Technology The study will be undertaken in the twenty-five centers. The nodal persons coordinating for these facilities would be responsible for collecting, entering, and transferring the data to ICMR. This is a multicentric study which is being conducted at 25 centres throughout India. St John s is one of the sites which has been selected. Data will be collected through WHO-rATA. The WHO has developed a survey tool named WHO-rATA for a better understanding of the need, access, and challenges of using assistive Technology; the The rATA is an interviewer-administered population-based survey tool, designed for rapid assessments of the need, use, supply, and impact of AT. The Study Population will be all the members in a household in the selected population by the study site who will be screened using the rATA tool and this will be carried out for a duration of 2 years. The study will be conducted in selected districts of Karnataka in and around Bangalore with multistage cluster random sampling technique. The sample size for St John s has been given as 7500. Project Technical Support- I (Field Workers for data collection) Position Starting: 15th March 2025 No. of Vacancy: one Preferred Qualifications: 12th Standard minimum Salary: Rs 18,000 per month + HRA (30%) Language : Should know how to read and write in Kannada and English Experience: Preferred 1-year minimum experience in any research project as data collectors or field workers Last Day for Receiving Application: 10th March, 2025 Location: Bangalore Roles and Responsibilities : Data Collection in various study areas selected by the PI for data collection anywhere in South Karnataka Data Collection using tab-based rATA tool thro field based activities related to rATA Research project funded by ICMR and arranging the logistics Ensure quality data collection Building rapport with the community and obtaining consent Preparing reports as specified by ICMR Maintaining quality data pertained to the project. Co-ordinating regular review project meetings Reporting to PI and Co-PI on a weekly basis the progress of the project
