Profile

Applications are invited for the post of Project Staff-Spinal Muscular Atrophy at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

Key Responsibilities

Generate a zebrafish genetic model for spinal muscular atrophy by CRISPR gene editing, perform genetic, molecular and behavioural characterization of the mutants.
Breeding and maintaining zebrafish mutant lines, microinjections.
Cloning genes of interest from zebrafish, RNA in situ hybridizations, immunofluorescence.
Data analysis, image analysis.

Qualification

MSc degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Zoology is required.

Experience

Candidates should have prior research experience of at least 6 months and should be competent in basic Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in theory and practice.
