Job Description

The Project Finance Lead will lead financial planning, evaluation, and monitoring of large-scale greenfield/brownfield projects across manufacturing, supply chain, and infrastructure. The role involves end-to-end CAPEX governance, capital budgeting, financial modeling, project cash-flow oversight, and ensuring ROI-driven investment decisions aligned with business strategy.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Capital Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Lead annual and long-term capital budgeting cycles for manufacturing and supply chain projects.
  • Develop business cases, feasibility studies, and investment proposals for new plants, capacity expansions, automation, and technology upgrades.
  • Conduct NPV, IRR, payback period, scenario/sensitivity analyses to support investment decisions.
  • Ensure alignment of CAPEX proposals with strategic priorities and financial thresholds.

2. Project Financial Evaluation

  • Prepare detailed project financial models covering capex, opex, plant operating economics, and cash-flow projections.
  • Evaluate cost-benefit analysis for large engineering and capex-intensive initiatives.
  • Benchmark project costs with industry standards (FMCG/manufacturing).

3. Project Monitoring & Cost Control

  • Track project-wise budget vs. actuals, variances, and financial risks.
  • Partner with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to monitor project progress and cost adherence.
  • Validate contractor/consultant payments, milestone invoicing, and approve capitalisation.
  • Drive post-implementation reviews (PIR) to assess benefits delivered vs. projected.

4. Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure robust internal controls for capex processes including authorisations, documentation, and project approvals.
  • Support internal/external audits related to project finance and capital work-in-progress (CWIP).
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory reporting.

5. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with project management, manufacturing, supply chain, EHS, procurement, and commercial teams.
  • Present project evaluations and financial insights to senior leadership for decision-making.
