About the Project

Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP)

Role: Project Engineer – Optimization & Modeling

Key Responsibilities

• Develop an

  MILP/MINLP scheduling model

  for multi-product pipeline operations.
• Incorporate hydraulic constraints, tank inventory limits, interface formation dynamics, and operational rules.
• Validate the optimization framework using historical refinery and pipeline datasets.
• Develop Python-based workflows for solver execution, data ingestion, and scenario management.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation, model validation reports, and scenario-based analyses.

Required Qualifications

• PhD or M.Tech/MS in:
• Chemical Engineering
• Process Systems Engineering
• Operations Research
• Applied Mathematics
• (or closely related fields)
• Strong foundation in mathematical modeling, numerical optimization, and nonlinear systems.
• Hands-on experience with optimization platforms such as

  GAMS

  ,

  Pyomo

  ,

  AMPL

  , or equivalent.
• Exposure to refinery operations, pipeline scheduling, supply chain optimization, or hydrocarbon logistics (preferred).

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with

  continuous-time scheduling formulations

• Understanding of

  multi-product pipeline behavior

  , interface mixing, and tank farm coordination.
• Ability to interpret operational datasets and translate them into model-ready formulations.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.

Salary

₹90,000 (consolidated) + 20% HRA + IITG medical facilities as per institute norms.
