Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The Production Planning plays an essential role in manufacturing operations, focusing on optimizing the balance between production efficiency and customer demand.

This position involves overseeing the planning and scheduling of production activities to ensure that materials, labor, and equipment are used effectively. By coordinating closely with various departments such as procurement, logistics, and sales

Job Responsibility:

Production & Capacity Planning

  • Develop and manage master production schedules based on sales/demand forecasts, inventory targets, Material availability and capacity constraints
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to meet changing demands or resolve bottlenecks
  • Monitor daily production output and adjust plans to address delays, shortages, or changes in demand
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance cost and service levels
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components
  • Implement inventory control strategies to reduce excess stock and minimize obsolescence

Demand Forecasting & Analysis

  • Analyze historical data, market trends, and customer orders to forecast demand
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to align production plans with business goals
  • Identify risks and opportunities in demand fluctuations and propose mitigation strategies

Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes and systems
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems for accurate planning and reporting
  • Prepare and present planning metrics, KPIs, and performance reports to senior management

Others

  • Develop and implement detailed production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize manufacturing efficiency and costs.
  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and inventory control.
  • Liaise with the sales, marketing, and product development departments to accurately forecast future production needs and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Oversee the inventory management process, including the monitoring of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to minimize overstock and outages.
  • Monitoring the output of the production and work closely with production and process development function to improve the process.
