Production Manager (PET & Can Filling Lines)

Role Position Overview

The Production Manager will oversee end-to-end operations and will be responsible for leading and managing all production operations of the PET and Can filling lines, ensuring production targets, quality standards, Safety norms, compliances and cost efficiency are consistently achieved. The role demands strong leadership, technical acumen, experience in beverage manufacturing environments and a continuous improvement mindset aligned with global standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Operations

• Lead day-to-day operations manpower, material, and machine efficiency across multiple production lines to meet volume, quality, and delivery targets. Plan, organize, and control production schedules to meet customer demands.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize yield, reduce downtime, and enhance OEE.
• Develop and execute production schedules in alignment with sales forecasts and plant capacity.

1. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure product quality in line with global beverage quality packaging standards.
• Implement and maintain quality management systems (ISO, HACCP, FSSAI, GMP).
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformities.

1. Process Improvement & Efficiency

• Identify and implement process optimization initiatives to enhance yield, reduce downtime, and control wastage.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams for equipment reliability and continuous improvement to ensure smooth line performance.

• Lead Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives across the production floor.

1. Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, line leaders, and operators.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
• Coordinate with HR for training and skill enhancement programs.
• Analyze production data to drive efficiency and minimize losses.
• Lead and mentor shift teams, ensuring skill development and safety compliance.

1. Safety & Sustainability

• Ensure strict adherence to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
• Promote sustainable production practices in line with company ESG commitments.
• Conduct periodic safety audits and ensure statutory compliance.

1. Reporting & Coordination

• Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly production performance reports.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, SCM, and Commercial teams for smooth plant operations.
• Participate in management review meetings and contribute to strategic planning.

Candidate Profile

• Qualification:

  B.E. B. Tech (Mechanical, Industrial, or preferred B. Tech in Food Technology).

• Experience:

  12 - 15 years in beverage FMCG manufacturing with at least 5 years managing high-speed PET or Can filling lines.
• Proven track record in leading large-scale production units with automated lines (preferably can or PET filling operations).
• Exposure to Lean, TPM, and Six Sigma practices preferred.
• Proven ability to lead multicultural teams and drive results.

Technical Competencies:

• Knowledge of metal forming, coating, curing, and printing processes.
• Strong understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP, FSSC).
• Exposure to SAP ERP-based production systems.
