Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1) Production Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop production plans and schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of production targets with sales forecasts and inventory levels.
  • Monitor production performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve production goals.

2) Process Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to streamline production processes.

3) Resource Management:

  • Supervise and mentor production staff to ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and production schedules.
  • Manage manpower allocation and training to meet production requirements and skill development needs.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of equipment issues and preventive maintenance activities.

4) Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Implement quality control measures and conduct regular audits to identify and address quality issues.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence throughout the production operations.

5) Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to support production schedules and minimize excess inventory.
  • Implement inventory control measures to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment of materials and components.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 8-10 years of experience in production management within the automotive industry, preferably in a Tier 1 supplier environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Proficiency in production planning and scheduling, process optimization, and quality management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning software.
