Production Engineer

Job Overview: The Engineer Punching, Chain Link, Shearing and Weld Mesh is responsible for supporting and managing production operations across all these departments. Acting as the shift-in-charge, this Engineer role ensures efficient use of machines and manpower, compliance with production schedules, and adherence to quality and safety standards. Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Engineer oversees GETs, DETs, operators and helpers to achieve production targets while minimizing downtime and waste. Key Responsibilities: 1. Shift Management and Team Supervision: Take charge of production activities during the assigned shift, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to schedules. Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on production needs and individual skills, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower and machinery. Oversee and guide GETs, DETs, and operators to meet production targets efficiently. Maintain command over the team, providing clear instructions and resolving issues promptly to avoid delays or errors. 2. Production Execution and Management: Collaborate with the Assistant Manager Production to execute daily production plans as per PPIC schedules. Monitor workflows in Chain Link, Shearing, Weld Mesh, and Single/Multi Punch sections, ensuring smooth operations and making adjustments as necessary. Act as the first point of escalation for any production challenges, resolving them or reporting to the Senior Engineer as required. Strong knowledge in preparing tools, dies and punches as per different grades based on the requirements. Ensure appropriate selection of dies, punch pins and other tools based on work order requirements, monitoring stock levels to prevent delays. Maintain and update dies, punch pins and other tools stocks and ensure its availability for upcoming work orders. Track progress against production targets and resolve workflow issues promptly. Arrange raw materials for production as per the production plan by coordinating with Senior Engineers and RM Store team. Key Qualifications: Education: Diploma/Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Experience: 0 to 1 year of experience in a production or supervisor role for post graduates, preferably within any of the related field. 2+ years of experience in a production or supervisory role for graduates, preferably within manufacturing setup. 4+ years of relevant experience for diploma holders in the same field. • Certifications: Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Quality Control, or Safety Practices are advantageous.
