Your Role And Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute technical assignments. Each day, you will deliver technical solutions as per agreed timeline and standards using established solutions. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting the development of technical expertise solutions and services.The work model for the role is: This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation in Pune, India.You will be mainly accountable for:
- Perform on-site robot configuration, commissioning, and debugging at customer locations, including ABB and Kawasaki robots.
- Collaborate closely with integrators and Tier 1 customers to ensure robots are configured, powered up, and optimized for specific applications.
- Support the selection and ordering of appropriate robots based on application needs, enabling required options and validating system functionality.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues, interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, and independently execute robot simulations for new model introductions.
- Manage supplier resources (robot programmers) to achieve line buy-off KPIs and ensure seamless execution of robotic processes.
Qualifications For The Role
- B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering
- 6–8 years of experience in robotic automation, preferably in automotive OEMs or Tier 1 environments
- Strong hands-on experience with ABB robots; exposure to other robot platforms is an added advantage
- Proficient in Robot Studio and Process Simulate; working knowledge of AutoCAD, CATIA, and SolidWorks
- Familiarity with BIW processes including spot welding, MIG welding, sealing, palletizing, and roller hemming
- Skilled in robot programming, I/O setup, controller configuration, and electrical troubleshooting in automation cells
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, and Profinet
- Willingness to travel up to 70% and perform site work up to 90%, including shift-based commissioning
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to interface with customers and cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint); self-starter with a proactive and collaborative mindset
