Job Description

**Role Overview:** As a Risk Oversight Specialist in UK Corporate Banking at Barclays, your main responsibility will be to oversee the new product risk approval process, particularly focusing on credit risk within UKCB (including Global Transaction Banking). You will work closely with various second line of defence areas such as Operational Risk, Legal, and Compliance. Additionally, you will collaborate with Front Office and Global risk teams to align with Barclays" commercial objectives while managing within risk appetite and parameters. Your role will involve engaging with a broad risk stakeholder network and acting as a delegate to the UKCB Chief Risk Officer for executing key responsibilities related to UKCB Product Risk. **Key Responsibilities:** - Report directly to the UK Corporate Banking Chief Risk Officer and execute responsibilities related to new product approvals and ongoing product reviews - Provide effective oversight of the product risk approval process, including independent check and challenge - Act as a key member of first line and second line led committees related to product risk, with decision-making empowerment - Identify areas for control and process improvement within Barclays Policies and Standards, collaborating on necessary system and process changes - Oversee the product and services pipeline, offering early stage discussions and feedback on key risk areas - Work closely with key stakeholders across first line and second line to ensure alignment on risk appetite and address any challenges - Take responsibility for credit risk review of annual and ad hoc product reviews **Qualifications Required:** - Strong experience in controls and governance with a track record of implementing change - Awareness of legislation and regulatory requirements impacting the Bank and customers - Sound understanding of investment banking products and respective legal documentation **Additional Company Details (if present in the JD):** The company has a strong emphasis on building strong working relationships and proactively managing internal clients and stakeholders across various teams.
