Purpose of this role : First Brands Group is looking for a Product Engineer who will be responsible for the engineering/reverse engineering of parts and assemblies for automotive Aftermarket/OE business. This includes Spark Plug, Brakes, Filters, Fuel Pump, Water Pump, Wipers, Lift Support of passenger vehicle. This includes the reverse engineering of Aftermarket/OE samples; the design and creation of drawings, models, and assemblies; and creation of bill of materials using CAD tools like CREO, Solid works etc. Should have working knowledge of Windchill data management. What will you need: Responsible to create and develop 3D designs, models, and drawings for various products, components, or systems. Responsible for choosing standard parts, features, material as per internal guidelines which would meet the internal / customer target process and cost. Work with the Product Managers to create and maintain product BOMS within Oracle Work with Product Managers to create and define individual components, manufacturing sub-levels, and finished goods within Oracle Work with manufacturing plants to diagnose and implement engineering change requests Diagnose and address any discrepancies in existing BOM structure or components Create new end item numbers following standard part number formats Create product BOMs and associated documents in collaboration with operations, supply chain, and product engineering to ensure unnecessary duplication of component sku numbers is avoided Collaborate with product engineering team to generate and refine design concepts that meet project goals. Ensure designs comply with automotive standards, regulations, and quality control procedures. Proficiency in Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) / SolidWorks software. Experience in 3D modelling, parametric design, and assembly design Minimum Experience Required: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. Basic knowledge in manufacturing process (Forging, Casting, Machining, Welding, etc.) Experience with Oracle ERP required Experience creating, reading, and maintaining product BOMS within Oracle Experience using Excel based data load forms Knowledge of multi-level product BOMS with smart numbering logic is a plus Knowledge and experience working within a Product Team is a plus Experience in Reverse engineering, Benchmarking will be a plus.
