Job Description

As a Mechanical Designer at Nexstem, you will have the exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge products that are both technologically advanced and user-centric. Your role will involve collaborating with engineering, product, and NPD teams to bring innovative and aesthetically pleasing products to life. Key Responsibilities: - Craft intuitive physical interactions and touchpoints to enhance Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA). - Generate innovative design concepts through advanced CAD modeling. - Develop high-fidelity CAD models and functional prototypes for rapid iteration. - Engineer components, assemblies, and enclosures for manufacturability. - Select and validate biocompatible, durable, and high-performance materials. - Develop innovative solutions to address unique design constraints. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electronic, and user experience elements. - Manage relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers for prototyping and scaling of components. - Create comprehensive engineering documentation to support regulatory compliance and design validation. - Conduct mechanical testing, design validation, and drive continuous improvement based on feedback. Qualifications: Core Requirements: - Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Mechatronics, or related field. - Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in developing physical products, preferably in bio-acquisition wearables, medical devices, or BCIs. - Portfolio: Strong portfolio showcasing contributions to product development, sensor integration, and production-ready wearable solutions. - Technical Tools: Proficiency in PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360, and 3D prototyping techniques. - Manufacturing Expertise: Experience with DFM/DFA, plastic injection molding, tolerancing, and precision fit techniques. - Team Collaboration: History of working closely with engineering, neuroscience, and industrial design teams. - Problem Solving: Methodical approach to design challenges balancing user needs and technical feasibility. - Communication: Excellent presentation skills to communicate design rationale and research findings. Bonus Qualifications: - Biosignal Product Experience: Prior work with bio-acquisition products like EEG, EMG, or ECG devices. - Innovative Mindset: Passion for innovative, ergonomic, and reliable wearable technology.
